What is DME?
Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is any equipment that provides therapeutic benefits to those in need because of certain illnesses and/or medical conditions. Your physician may recommend DME products to aid in the healing or recovering process. For orthopedic issues, this often includes bracing, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, walkers, knee scooters etc. Coverage for DME may depend on your particular insurance plan.
