Dr. Robert J. Avino Reaches New Milestone
We're thrilled to announce that Dr. Robert J. Avino, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and fellowship-trained adult hip and knee reconstruction surgeon at Palm Beach Orthopaedic Institute, has reached an incredible milestone: 500 Mako SmartRobotics™ surgeries!
The robotic system consists of mechanical arms and camera arms attached to surgical instruments. The surgeon controls the arms of the robotic system while viewing 3D images of the surgical site. Robotic surgery is minimally invasive and helps improve accuracy during the procedure.
